[citation][nom]happyballz[/nom]It should says "democracies" ... because real democracy was lost long time ago, at best we have simulation of democratic elements- even those are not fully implemented most of the time. They are probably just testing the waters with small amount of take-down requests... this could get much more worse if they feel like we don't make an outrage about it.[/citation]
“Democracy ... wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.” — John Adams

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” — Thomas Jefferson

I hope none of these court cases are generated specifically to explore the content and if it should get a takedown request. That's a horrible waste of tax money in my opinion. If people are not inclined to visit a site with inappropriate content they won't google search for it. Just because you take down static sites with hate speech, will not prevent people spouting it in a chat room or chatting between eachother. That would be a horrible waste of time and resources.

quick everyone put your tinfoil hats back on. conspiracy nuts.... There are plenty of things to be worried about in the world, and Google being asked to delist a couple thousand sites means nothing. For those who would truly fight for free speech on the internet, a new domain name only cost's $8. And since it takes 6 months for a takedown to be processed that's plenty of time to get the word out.

There are more search engines than Google, if Google blocks to many web sites then people will simply use another search engine that does not censor its results.
