[citation][nom]trstrhtrh[/nom]tomb raider:-game is quite bad (but at the time of the first, it was on par with many other games)-movie is for retards and perverts[/citation]

Laura Croft's physical assets were part of her game character, so naturally they feature in associated media..the film..comics, models, advertising etc. Adults watching that film to see her figure is not perverted in my opinion, but whether or not it makes the film good overall is debateable. I didn't think much of the acting or the script.

I don't see how a movie would ever work and be like the game. Audiences would hate it and the main character. Since the hero of the movie would be constantly pulling innocent civilians out of their cars then killing them for fun, running innocent people over, killing police trying to stop him, nailing prostitutes then killing them to get back his money and taking drugs to get super strength.

I'm sure some would like this. Though the game is fun. I just can not see a character that brutal make it in the theaters. Scarface was great but it was focused on bad guys killing bad guys. It was not Pacino running around killing innocents at random for kicks.

It's a seemingly impossible task..the script creators are being pulled in
different directions, and one can understand their reservations..

. Trying to re-create, in film, something that's already been copied or
created in various forms.
. The actors themselves are as fake, just like their latest plastic
surgery..
. Logistics: all the props, actors and studio time couldn't bring back
something that big, especially in a 2HR film.
. Demographics. Trying to convince the present to suddenly start living in
the past doesn't always work. It works in the game because it's interactive.
. The plot. It's a game, so the audience will want the storyline to follow
the game and in a convincing way.
. As mentioned, the Hollywood money men. Some of them do not care what they
shovel as long as the cash rolls in. Same for the actors.

So perhaps CGI is the way to go..the lesser of two evils, etc. Maybe a
combination of real-world sets and CGI. With CGI you have an open
canvass..the ability to go back and make alterations, incorporate many
elements from the game without having to folk out on studio sets or
associated paraphernalia from decades gone by. The expectations are too high
and real-world scenes won't deliver them, in my opinion.

Just my 2c.
