graphic memory reduces due to change in OS

hi guys, i have an hp laptop, 4gb ram, 2.89ghz quad core. when i was using windows 8 the graphics memory was 2.7gb and video memory was 512mb, now that am using windows 8.1 the graphics momory has gone down to 725mb and the video memory is showing 0mb. pls what should i do?

Are you actually having performance issues? What are you looking at to see the video memory listing? You are probably using shared video RAM, which is not always reported properly.
