Graphics Driver problem.

I recently got my laptop screen fixed and I tried to play some games, but it says my graphics drivers are outdated. So I looked on device manager and I had standard vga graphics adapter. So I updated it to intel(R) HD Graphics. It told me to restart my laptop so I did. On the starting windows screen, the screen flickers for a split second and just turns off.

Neither, I am using it from the intel website because the one from the manufacturers webiste (Acer) doesn't work.

UPDATE: I managed to set it onto maximum preformance and it just booted up successfully but i see horizontal lines descending on my screen. Like a wave effect.
