Gtx 950 i5-6300HQ vs Gtx960m i7-4720HQ

I'm thinking of buying a laptop solely for gaming. And I found 2 options:
Lenovo IdeaPad 700 but with 256gb of SSD only but with desktop graphics card - Gtx 950.

and

Lenovo IdeaPad y50-70 (i7-4720hq and Gtx 960m) right now discontinued but it is still sold in my local shops.

I'm leaning towards Gtx950 option and will buy 1tb of hdd storage that is if adding extra drive is a possible option.

So my questions are:
1) Can I add extra hard drive to a former model?
2) Is this really desktop graphics card and not a typo? If this is do you have any experience with it? What about throttling?

I think I just saw that thread that was published on the 3rd of July. Well that's a blow. I guess my final question boils down to i5 6300hq laptop or I7 4000s series variants.

The i7 4xxx would be my choice.
