Hello
My problem is high temperature while gaming on my Lenovo Y50-70. My sys tem consists of:
i5 4210H 2.90GHz
8GB Ram
intel HD graphics 4600
Samsung SSD850 EVO
nvidia GTX 960M
I went to the intel extreme util. to monitor my performance and temperature while playing Hunt: Showdown because I was getting FPS drops every now and then. This is the chart: https/imgur.com/a/0bTCAjA
The highest temperature the drop starts at is 98 celsius (yeah I know crazy) and it waits for the CPU to cool down to 80-81 celsius and starts working properly again until the temperature rises up to 95 and throttles again.
I am clueless towards repairing this as I obviously am either overstressing the machine or not giving sufficient cooling. It is a laptop on a cooling pad but the openings of bottom part vents are so small its ridiculous.
Also max core frequency shows 3.48 GHz and then while gaming it drops to 2.89 GHz and while in the throttle to 0.80 GHz.
Do you guys know of any alternatives that might help?
Thank you for any replies.
