[citation][nom]Bunz_of_Steel[/nom]I agree bill gates is your daddy! I to work in the IT field and have seen huge amounts of jobs sent overseas simply because it's cheap labor. Fire the dedicated employees and move one is their mentality. Then we wonder why is this recession so hard to get out of? No jobs in the U.S. means we don't spend. Should be a law against sending our jobs across our borders.[/citation]
Which would only drastically increase the costs of the goods sold here. Tariffs and closed trade borders aren't free you know.

[citation][nom]chripuck[/nom]I work in IT consulting and one of my companies revenue streams is to fix the boondoggle that Indian programmers create. I've never seen such a lack of creativity from a group of people. They program by the book and while that sounds good, rarely do companies need solutions that are "out of the box."I might start believing you if I EVER encounter an Indian programmer, analyst or support technician that actually leaves me with a good feeling after a call.I have a friend like you that is all gloom and doom but I have a clue for you, this isn't something new and it's inevitable. Globalization is a reality and unless we start marking up massive tariffs and punishing companies for hiring outside of the US we can't stop it. The good news is as the standard of living rises in India/China it'll will become financially sound to bring the jobs back here. I have no worries about my newborns future because in 20 years that will have become a reality.[/citation]
Yeah, I've seen the exact same thing. They work like donkeys for slave wages, but their work is mediocre and uninspired. They seem to lack the ability (or were not taught) to think in a non-linear fashion. Ultimately, their performance, no matter how cost-effective it may be, will limit just how much outsourcing can ultimately be done.

Companies hire temps with the agreement to hire or not within 30 days. They then pretend like they have forgotten after 3 months. They get to abuse the temp for as long as they will take it. They get no benefits, bonuses, vacation time and usually are treated like crap constantly for their troubles.

thumbs up chripuck, but still I don't think we should send jobs outside our country. I don't think you would want your country to send it's jobs outside your borders if it's affecting your economy and job futures would you? Tarifs and goods would go higher yes but we can compensate that by firing all those bankrupt experts we call CEO's. Cut their pay in HALF since they don't know how to run a company, remove all their percs and make them a working stiff like the rest of us. That would apply to them and their executive staff as well.

This is an example of how the low level people and only the low level people make any company work. If they go ignored and unappreciated, things like this happen. History has repeated again. Leadership, please take note.

Tax breaks need to be given to companies that create jobs here. What US CEO's don't realize is that you only make money hiring cheap labor when you can sell you product at a high price to consumers. The goal is to buy low and sell high. You can only do that as long as people somewhere are making good money. American companies seem to think there is an endless supply of well heeled consumers here in the US ready to pay US prices for products based on cheap labor. You layoff enough people and eventually you have to lower prices. It's like what's happening in the housing market now. How many Indian works can pay $40,000 for a US made car? Companies(like Microsoft) offer Windows to 3rd world countries for $30 because they know they can't afford to pay US prices ($150), soon they'll be forced to do that here. Eventually you end up paying low and selling low, and you've gained nothing, except now all your expertise and labor is 20 hours away speaking a language you don't understand. They're just too short minded and stupid to realize it. Globalization is a race to the bottom.

Too bad he probably hurt his chances trying to find another job. When employers start calling up old bosses and validating his employment history, they're going to run into this, unless he works minimum wage for the rest of his life where people don't care about it. And I'm sure he'll never get a job with that temp agency again. I think it's stupid to go to that much of an extreme at someone who pays you money.

[citation][nom]chowmanga[/nom]People are very quick to call out on our country's faults, but few provide a solution.[/citation]

I'm pretty sure that, if the problem is beating ones self in the face, the solution is to stop beating ones self in the face.

[citation][nom]bill gates is your daddy[/nom]Like it all really matters anymore. In 10 years all technology jobs will be in india.I work in the technology field as a high level administrator. I have watched it happen for many years now. First the American government allowed American companies to outsource level one support over to india. Now level two support is being outsourced and you can start seeing level three support going to india. Do not think for once that I do not know what I am talking about because I am watching it happen to me at this very moment.America has no technology industry anymore. It has no manufacturing. It has no agriculture and all you hear about are how companies are laying off tens of thousands of people all the time.As "We the People" we fucked up a long time ago by turning a blind eye to all of this.[/citation]

its called globalization, something that your country, the supreme capitalist "free nation" has pushed and forced other countries to accept.
better get used to it.

Right. Read closer. I wasn't calling out new problems, just using ones already stated for argument's sake. Your argument doesn't apply here.

Lmao. I have to laugh at all these people who whine about jobs going away. It's a company, a company is there to make money. If someone else is offering to do the job cheaper, why exactly would they not accept? 'Patriotism'? Well, they're already an international company most of the time anyway. If you want the job, find a way to do the job well enough that your price point is worth it, or just lower your rates to the competition. Capitalism at its finest. Competition to breed lower prices and/or higher quality. Sometimes it sucks, but a lot of the time, it works.

@The article... Brilliant. Great creativity, too!

If I his boss and seen that.. I'd give that guy a freaking awesome reference. Just for pulling something original lol. Assuming I couldn't get him back. Even if he sucked you need at least one of those type of guys.

Except, you know, the CEOs control the company and USUALLY don't fire themselves.

One reason more why America wont be around any more plus the government has a $62trillion arm (adjustable rate mortgage) debt which will be defaulted some time next year. The there is the $697.2 billion that was stolen by the sale of gold plated tungsten 400oz bars that were used to rip off China, India, and countless others (serves them right) which means the government is broke totally. Right now total unemployment in the US is 22.3% and fast heading towards 30%+. Next year will be the year when the pyramid scheme implodes.
