Hackers removed with restoring an HP drive to factory specs?

With an HP desktop, and the computer compromised by hackers, will using the restore feature and getting back on the net still allow the hackers back in with them knowing an IP? What do techs usually do to eradicate the hacks? Please be complete to a successful method. thanks.

Restoring your system back to original state will remove any software that may have been installed. Problem is it won't remove a vulnerability if you're not patched with the latest security patches. Without knowing how your system was compromise I can't offer up much more help. Restore and patch ASAP. Reboot your router in hopes that you get a new IP assigned or leave it off for a period of time. If you address is static, contact your ISP.
