Hard Drive Issue.

Hello everyone, I have a major issue right now my laptop started up just fine then after an hours use shut off and said critical error.

Now when I go into bios the laptops Hard drive doesn't even show up there is isn't even spinning up sound, only a slight disk spin sound when booted up then noting after that i managed to fix it and get back in to the system but the hours use thing happend agian with the same components and same hardrive i tryed an old 2.5 drive and that didn't show up either any help would me massively appreciated! Thank you

Hi there ZombieJoneZ,

That is really unpleasant. :(

How did you manage to fix the problem the first time?
If another drive is not recognized by BIOS, then my suggestion wold be to attach your laptop drive as a secondary one, to another computer. (either internally or externally via SATA to USB cable) If the drive is accessible, you need to back up the data stored on it. After that, you can test it, so you can see if there's something wrong with it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

If the drive is in a healthy state and it is recognized by another computer, then there's something wrong with your laptop (port or connection). In both cases, I believe it may be a good idea to take it to a repair shop and get it fixed. If the laptop is under warranty, you can just contact the place you got it from.
