Having a hard time with the new tv and older RCA sound system

I have a Sonyo DP42D23 HD TV and I have a older surround sound. its a RCA RV9968A. What can I do to get it to work on my new tv?

Your TV has a coax digital audio output. Could not find info on the RCA surround. If it does not have this kind of input there are two possibilities. If it has an optical digital input then you need a converter like this:

If it has analog L/R RCA inputs then you need a DAC like this:

You will also need cables to connect them.
