I have a Mitsubishi DVHS VCR and HDTV. Both support IE 1394 for HD. But the
TV only transfers existing signals from the tuners - useless, since we do
not get over the air TV in our location.

I have my HDD200 connected via composite, but it looks like the Mitsubishi
62575 cannot convert from analog to MPEG/digital.

Does anybody know of any external converters to be able to record HDTV from
the HDD200?

There isn't any. What you need is your decoder modded by
http://www.169time.com/ , to add Firewire HD out.
