HDMI/DVI/Bluetooth sound problem

When I connected my new Samsung 4
K tv to the cable box I got sound from the tv speakers (as expected). I paired my Bluetooth headphone with the tv and got sound from the headphones. The sound stopped playing through the tv speakers. I used the tv menu to play sound through both tv speakers and Bluetooth headphones. When I turn off the headphones or the tv, I can not get sound from the tv speakers when I turn the tv on again. The cable box is connect to the tv via the hdmi/dvl connector. From what I've read about dvi not supporting audio, I think the hdmi/dvi port on the tv is stuck in dvi mode, or something like that...
Any help appreciated.

The problem you are having is not related to the TV input at all. If this were the issue you wouldn't get sound at all.
Seems like your TV can't predict what you want to do or remember how it was set after it is turned off. If you can't get it to work correctly I would suggest that you connect an external BT transmitter to the optical audio out of the TV. This won't turn off the TV speakers and should stay paired with the headphones. The optical out is fixed so when you don't want the TV speakers turn the TV volume down.

Thanks for your response. I guess I'm just stubborn and want my 4K "Smart" TV to be a bit smarter. Although your fix will solve the problem, it's not a very elegant solution. There are some spare hdmi slots on the tv. I'll try switching the cable box to one of them and see if that fixes my problem. The spare hdmi connectors are not hdmi/dvi. They are just hdmi. I just thought my tv would automatically switch back to pushing audio out the HDMI/dvi port when I turned off the Bluetooth device.
