Hdmi for toshiba

i have a Toshiba laptop satellite C870D-11L its hdmi port there is a white cover .So it makes it impossible to connect the hdmi cable in.Is there any way i can do to connect it to the Tv.

can you take the cover off?

some laptop have covers on the ports to protect them but usually one can take them off.
