vga doesn't carry sound. you need to come from the headphone output jack of the laptop the input of the projector.

Only HDMI, DVI and Displayport can carry audio over the video cables, VGA does not support sound, you will either have to use one of those cables, or hookup the laptop to the speakers separately.

Like others said: VGA does not carry an audio signal. No sound with VGA. Only video + audio with HDMI, DVI, or DisplayPort.
