Headphones seem to act like 3 speakers.

I bought some headphones hoping they would be good. However when I plug it in and listen to a song I can only hear the instruments and not the voice. I found out how to fix it on windows by changing the balance but I don't know what to do about devices I cannot change the balance on.

Make sure that your audio control panel is set for 2 channel audio. If it was set for 3.1 or 5.1 it would place all the voices on the center channel speaker that your headphones don't have.
