Would these:

be a good replacement for my Razer Kraken? I'm looking for an upgrade in both sound and voice. The kraken sound has become muffled and stopped working in one ear after just over a year of use, and it never left my desktop. I want a better mic than the ones usually found on headsets, and headphones which are lightweight and allow me to hear game sounds nicely.

If you have other suggestions, I'm looking to spend around $200 at most. I like to record gameplay, and would like for my voice to sound clear.

Thanks for any advice.

If you're not looking at a form of a broadcaster like setup, you can stick with Antlion's Mod Mic 4, a little pricey but good audio pick up. As for the headset, you could easily forgo the mic and headset individual purchase and pick up a Kingston Hyper X cloud II or I headset. The Phillips is't a bad choice by any margin though.

I looked at the mod mic, would the quality be better or worse than a desktop mic such as the blue ice? And I just read that gaming headsets aren't the best quality. I was looking that particular headset, would it better serve me than the other two?

It's not a gaming headset per se...it's a Qpad rebranded Kingston headset. You should also know that audio is a subjective topic, some people can hear layers in their audio content while others just hear a mush of everything. I'm the former. Oh I asked for that very reason, if you plan on broadcasting, then an armature and a mic of that nature would benefit you. The Blue Ice isn't bad but then again if you're looking at broadcasting you can look at Audiotechnica gear.

I do record game play and upload sometimes, so I was wanting a clearer voice. Sorry I edited that in. What would you suggest with that in mind? When I was looking these things up, the blue ice mic seemed popular and good, same for the headphones. I thought kraken sounded fine before they stopped working, so I guess (to some) that would make me not an audiophile.

Also, I should mention my computer is decently loud (I cannot control the CPU fan, only case), so maybe I should look for some noise cancellation mics.
