Headset Microphone cheweded up replacement?

My Sennheiser PC 350 se Microphone boom is all chewed up due to my little brother... I need a replacement or a cover or something for the boom.... any suggestions?

Does it still work properly?
Some heatshrink would be a great choice to cover it up (possibly wrap it in tape first to get a smoother finish).
