Computer barbarian seeks your help. what is Toshiba HD/SSSAlert...should I be terrified by ALERT...Am I being alerted to bad juju infecting my Toshiba laptop. Please advise asap while I still have a nail or two to bite. ?Also what is MOM referred to in earlier thread. Many thanks in advance for your kind assistance

Do you happen to have the exact error of what you saw? Was the error from Toshiba itself or was it from another software?

I would suggest doing a virus/malware scan first just to make sure it's not an infection in your laptop. Please use the link below for guide and tools.

Toshiba HD/SSD Alert is for monitoring smart data on hdd/ssd which is not necessary since windows already does it. It also can do backups. It just comes with toshiba laptops so I assume this is a toshiba laptop. Mom and ccc are for your graphics and need to be there. I guess you are looking at some process list and trying to determine what is malware?

I use maleware which doesn't seem to help much but thanks for the advise. Patty-cake wishes you well.
