Help! I need to change a word in a photo

We adopted our daughter. We had her from the moment she was born. However the name on her hospital bracelet which is in most of the photos I took of her while we were in the hospital with her. I want to edit the birth "mothers" name out of the pictures and put our name on it. Please help?

it's not text anymore, it's a bunch of pixels. edit it the same way you'd edit out a fly on the wedding cake.

also, that sounds uncool to blow away her birth mother's existence. if i were the daughter, i'd resent you when i grow up.

Save 'that' picture for posterity.
Create a new one with your name on it.

In any case...you can't really change it. As said above, it's just a bunch of pixels, not a separate layer that you can edit.

First of all, you don't know the situation so keep your rude comments to yourself. She tried to kill her.

For your situation...any image editor can do this with a bit of practice.

But do practice on a COPY of the file, not the only file.

I'd recommend just editing out the birth mother's name and not attempting to write your name in. Unless you've had a lot of experience in photo editing, it will look like it's been edited. Just leave it blank. I'd also agree with holding on to the originals... just in case it comes up years down the line.
