help me get back to internet - please!

i would really appreciate some assist. my computer installed a win10 update. now my modem no longer connects or works. i have pushed the buttons to connect. i have used the windows settings to connect. and, nothing. my modem is listed but nothing. i have a toshiba satellite. please assist.

I am assuming you are using WiFi? Have you tried connecting via Ethernet and see if it works? Just to test and make sure there is nothing wrong with the modem or the computer.

If it will connect via Ethernet, but not WiFi, then it may well be the laptops WiFi card. If you have someone you can borrow an external WiFi card from to test this, I would connect it via USB to your computer and see if you can connect to the modem this way. If it works, then your WiFi card needs to be replaced, or you need to get your own external WiFi card.
