Hello guys!

All right so I'm planning on buying a new laptop for overall use and gaming (but im not really the guy who cares about graphics too much),
and have the budget of around 600-700 dollars, maybe more.

So i was looking at laptops in amazon, and there are tons and its pretty hard to choose

So I found 2 which seems good, but honestly im a noob at this so if its bad choices in my part, then sorry. I need help lol

I found this.. which is worth around 700~ dollars MSI CX61 2PC-499US
http://www.amazon.com/MSI-CX61-2PC-499US-15-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00ISKS4A2/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1412607045&sr=1-5&keywords=msi

and this.. which is worth 800~ dollars but on "sale" for 630~ Acer Aspire V3-572G-54S6
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-V3-572G-54S6-Notebook-1-70GHz-GeForce/dp/B00MM2WA8O/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1412601347&sr=1-1&keywords=gaming+laptops+i5

the main differences:
MSI:
Intel Core i5-4200M 3.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GT820M with 2GB DDR3 VRAM
750 gig

Acer:
Intel® CoreTM i5-4210U processor (1.7GHz/2.7GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
NVIDIA® GeForce® 840M w/ 2GB DDR3 VRAM
1tb

Is the 820m to 840m a big difference in gaming?
and is the 3 ghz to 1.7ghz/2.7ghz a big difference in overall use (and gaming)?

I also heard that the GT Series is better than the 800m series? If so do you guys know any good laptops with the gt series at this price range and preferably i5?

Well now to how I use it, I just use it for research in school, watching TV Series.. and also in gaming, but I'm not a hardcore gamer which wants Ultra in lets say Shadow of Mordor or something, All I honestly want is to play games like League of Legends, DotA 2, CS:GO, Borderlands 2, in Medium settings, or even low. But ofcourse high + would be better. As long as they wont lag and ruin my gameplay.

So yeah, any help will be appreciated! Which of the 2 should I get?,. or better yet can you guys suggest the best laptop I can buy with my budget (maybe more),
As long as how I use it will suffice, and the longer lasting the better ofcourse!

Thanks in advance! :)

The lenovo g505s has an optical drive which the acer lacks of, the acer has 2GB more ram (and you can add upto 16GB), I don't see any GPUs listed in the lenovo which makes me think it uses the integrated GPU which is horrible. The Acer's CPU is better than lenovo's, you can't judge CPUs just by looking at their frequency. Intel CPUs are way more efficient than AMD, many newbies usually buy amd systems because they see high frequencies and many cores at low costs, just today I found out a friend of mine made the very same mistake :p

The acer still wins for both gaming and general usage if you don't need an optical drive (you can buy an external optical drive though)
you'll want the 840M no doubt. the CPU difference is minimal and quite frankly you'll get better battery life with the acer. then there's the fact that the build quality of MSI's LP and CX product lines which is terrible by comparison

So is the 1.7 Processor Speed to the 2.5 Processor Speed not a big difference in overall performance? :)
And so you think this would be the best laptop I can buy for 600-700 dollars? thanks! :)

The GPU obviously outperforms the MSI's GPU, it'll make out for the CPU, there is no contest at all.

Have a look at these
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.MNJAA.005 (the one you posted)
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.MN5AA.001
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.MB5AA.013

Differences are:
The aspire E has better CPU of all (not really of ALL, when I say of all I mean of three :p)
the V has larger screen (15,6'' vs 14'')
The E is cinecrystal (which I am guessing is a glossy screen)
The 840m performs /slightly/ worse than gt 750m, about maybe ~5 fps
2GB more vRAM in the 750m is always better, but 2GB should be enough for the 840m
the V7 has an small SSD which is a big bonus

My personal choice? I would stick with the model you posted because of the 15,6'' screen, otherwise, I wouldn't really know if to choose the 750m 4GB + 16GB SSD + i5 @ 1,6Ghz or the 840m 2GB + i7 @ 2Ghz

and yes, that's probably among the best laptops for the price. Currently, acers are the best options for under 800$ budgets, then lenovo comes in at 800$ until it hits 1000$, then Sager, MSI and Asus (as major brands), cyberpowerpc ibuypower blahblah and similars, come into fight for the throne of over 1000$ budgets

Thank you very much! :) One last question, If i added one last laptop to the mix, what would be better for gaming:
Lenovo IdeaPad G505s
http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-15-6-Inch-Laptop-59406417/dp/B00HIYA4F2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top#productDetails

or the one I posted:
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-V3-572G-54S6-Notebook-1-70GHz-GeForce/dp/B00MM2WA8O/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1412601347&sr=1-1&keywords=gaming+laptops+i5

and for overall use?
