Hi I have got a new TV Philips 6000 4k smart TV and I can't get my old home theater surround sound to work with TV it's a Philips mx5700d surround sound anyone help me

How are you connecting the 2?

TV has optical audio output. HTS has analog input so you need a converter like this one

as well as the cables to connect it.
Check the TV manual for how to get the optical output to work.
