Help me please

I have mi redme note 5 pro and I use mi headphones as well but today when I was listening music at metro station suddenly my headphones disconnected by its own and when I tried to connect it again i plugg my headphones in jack I got headphones connectivity sign on my screen top but when I wear head phones in my ears I was not able to hear sound becoz their was no sound in headphones. But shows still connected. I change my headphones but face same problems. If my headphones jack is damaged than why my headphones show connected on screen. I had already saw my headphones settings it's normally . I m very disappointed becoz 3 week back I got my new and first personal phone . And I'm big found off listening music . Plz suggest me what should I do now . Should I go to mi showroom and get my phone checked their.

That would be a good first step to see what they offer. It could be something simple.

Try a different pair of headphones on the phone or the headhones that don't work on your phone on another phone or source of music. That way you can tell where the problem is.
