Help! My Lenovo ideapad has a black screen after the logo loaded

Please can any1 help me solve this problem, my daughter spilt food on her lenovo laptop/ideapad and minuits later the screen went black at first it just seem the screen had just gone off as a male voice was still responding to the touch of keys but nothing since I've shut it down. I've hooked it up to an external monitor and only the curser shows on screen nothing else, ive looked for a solution online but everything is soooo confusing with no real answers of how to solve the issue :-( could anyone help me solve this issue and please, I am awear that dropping food on it was not the best scenario but I'm hoping I don't have to just throw it away as there are photos on it I can't replace thank you

@mebaby27 - If Windows 10 is on the system, you can download it from here, install it to a USB (or DVD), and boot from that in an attempt to run repairs on the current Windows install.
