I've currently seen the Gigabyte P34G anyone know if this is a good replacement for a razer blade? Specs are amazing in my opinion and i've heard the only con is the battery but it's not like I'm gonna play games unplugged.
Also any1 know about the MSI GE-40? I've heard that MSI makes items with really cheap materials which is what turned me down from buying an MSI
I got my P34G about a week ago, and I'm very happy with it. I had my eyes on the 14" Blade at first as well, but in the end I'm very glad I saved the 500+ euro's price difference in favor of the Gigabyte.
The differences are:
- P34G has a slightly faster, but more power-hungry CPU (i7 4700HQ vs. i7 4702HQ);
- The P34G has a slightly slower GPU (GTX760M vs. GTX765M);
- The P34G is lighter but slightly thicker;
- The P34G has much better storage capacity (mSATA + SATA vs. mSATA);
- The P34G can have 16GB RAM, not sure about the Blade;
- The P34G has a MUCH, MUCH better screen (1080p AHVA vs. 900p TN);
- The P34G stays cooler when under full load, not sure about the noise (it's acceptable for the P34G when gaming, and very good when doing normal things, although fan behaviour can be a bit erratic at times);
- The P34G has much better connectivity (2x USB 3.0 + 2x USB 2.0, Ethernet, HDMI, VGA and a card reader vs. 3x USB 3.0 and HDMI);
- P34G has worse battery life and a smaller capacity battery than the Blade;
- This is personal, but imo. the Blade has a better design (which doesn't mean the P34G isn't pretty, but it lacks that certain something extra);
- I read the Blade has a better keyboard, the touchpad is pretty much equal quality-wise;
- Build quality is probably slightly in favor of the Blade, although the P34G isn't bad (in has some flaws though, like a bit of keyboard/tray flex, a - good-quality - plastic underside, and a somewhat cheap plastic screen bevel).
So all in all, the Blade may be a tad faster when gaming and definitely has more character and Wow-factor, but the P34G offers much more storage capacity and a much, much better screen (can't stress this enough). Both are great machines, but it's beyond doubt that the P34G offers much, much better value for money
