Help on laptop decision

Hello,

I need a desktop replacement. I do not care much about weight or battery life, but I need it to be portable (not a desktop).

I will use it most for photo/video editing and large data set analysis (using R)...

My big doubt is how faster a laptop with a desktop processor (i7-3820) will be compared with the ones with laptop processors (i7-3630QM)?

With all the rest being more less the same... what do you think?

Desktop processors won't fit in laptops, unless you have a laptop with an LGA 1155 socket.
