hi user's of tom's hardware forum
im currently using a Creative Gigaworks G500 5.1 speakers....its a good speaker and all but with only one flaw > no tweeters
which means no sharp music
im thinking of getting a pair of small car tweeters and jacking it into either 2 of my 5 speaker ports
(its exposed wire i dont know wad that technology is called, with the clip behind the subwoofer and the exposed wire clipped into it.)

so the set up will be like this
> Front Right and Left port
- Creative speakers (that comes with the whole set)
- 'Car tweeter' ( add on )
which means 2 wire jacked into one 'clipped port'

> Rear and Centre port
- no change ( Creative speakers that comes with the whole set)

any suggestions??
am i damaging my sound system/subwoofer??
help me on this query thanks very much people =)

It's a lot harder than that - you'd need to design your own crossovers. Honestly, it's not worth it. In addition, the speakers are 3", which allows them to hit at least fairly decent treble with no tweeters needed. Obviously, it won't match a well engineered two way speaker with a tweeter, but I'd be surprised if anything you could cobble together would be an improvement over the stock sound.

Oh, and if you do what you are suggesting (just hook up the tweeters directly, without a crossover), it will sound terrible and likely damage something.

I'd just leave it the way it is, yes.

A crossover is basically something that makes sure that if you have a 2 way speaker, the tweeter only gets the high frequencies and the midrange only gets the low frequencies. It basically filters all of the high frequencies out of the signal going to the main cone, and filters all of the low frequencies out of the signal going to the tweeter.
