Help with changing DNS Servers

Hello, I have a 50Meg (Down) DSL line. I recently learned about changing DNS servers to enhance speed and privacy. My question is what would be best, to change the DNS server settings on my DSL modem or just my wifi router?

Not sure if the following would be helpful, but to avoid a double NAT, my DSL Modem is set to handle the PPPoE connection and my wifi router is in DHCP mode.

Any help from anyone who knows about this kind of stuff is greatly appreciated.

I would change it on the wifi router.

It won't make any difference to speed. I'm not sure if it'd necessarily get you more privacy either, you can use a different DNS than your ISP's but all your traffic is still going through their infrastructure.
