Help With Choosing a Budget Gaming Laptop

Please help me. My son has $650 dollars and is trying to buy a budget gaming laptop. He will be using it play games like Call of Duty. Right now he is leaning towards the HP Pavilion (he loves that you can customize colors although this is not a deal breaker). What do you guys think about this or can you recommend another one (he was going to save up more and get a Lenvono but has changed his mind)?
What would you buy with $650? Thanks!!!

I'd recommend Asus, MSI and Lenovo. Not HP or Dell - too many problems here.

Does it have to be a laptop?
I don't want to bore you with "Desktop vs. Laptop" arguments but I had a gaming laptop, sat on my desk all day every day. So I just got a desktop, great experience in hardware and felt like I was putting together legos. (HA)

Anyway, if your still set on getting him a laptop the one you have picked may be your best bet. Although it is at the lower spectrum of gaming laptop. It should run Call of Duty and newer games at medium settings, much like what you would see on a console. However newer upcoming games are much more intensive, he may only be able to play these on low pixely settings.

Of course, it would work as a gaming laptop, but if you want one that's halfway decent your looking at closer to $800-$1000.

That's just the way laptops are.

I've selected a few.

This one is my personal favorite. A buddy of mine has it and it's a solid gaming laptop.

You'll need another few hundred dollars on top of your $650 to get a half decent laptop.
