help with connecting speakers

With the yamaha MG10XU, i am planning on getting a new pair of speakers as i don't actually have any speakers right now, and the speakers i am looking at speakers that will be able to fit on my desk but all of them i am seeing near me only has a 3.5 mm cable on them, and like in this video

He uses an RCA cable that runs into his speakers, so with speakers that only have a 3.5 mm cable on them, is there an adapter i can use to put into the RCA out on the mixer board? can that actualyl carry sound through the adapter and into the speakers through the 3.5 mm cable?
