Alright so basically I need help with my laptop since I'm fairly inexperienced with this area of computers. Basically I want to restore my computer to a state where it as if a just got it out of the box. But my laptop came preinstalled with windows 7 and obviously I don't want to lose that. I think I may have figured it out as far as I have to create recovery media on either 4 discs or a usb. If it isn't an issue could someone tell em what I exactly need to do? And if I need to clarify anything at all than just ask.

Solution
It should do a clean install of windows. To do this it will format the drive, install the factory device drivers and windows. You should end up with it in an out of the box condition software wise. All email, address books, songs, documents, pictures, passwords gone. You will have to reset your email accounts and any other personal settings.

It's a Toshiba Satellite P870-02L and I took a quick look in the user guide for recovery partition and it doesn't mention recovery partition specifically but it does talk system recovery options and accessing them by hold f8 right after turning on the computer and then selecting advanced boot options is this what I'm looking for?

Yes it sounds like it. Follow the f8 instructions and see what choices you have in the advanced options. Be aware that if you do a factory reset you will loose any data, programs and custom settings. So if there are documents, pictures, music, movies or anything else you want, back them up. Also any updates will be lost so expect windows to want to update after the reset and if there were any hardware updates you will have to reinstall.

Okay sorry to be asking so many questions about this but I really don't want to mess this up. So after going through the process when i go to resotre to factory settings it says my hard drive will be wiped. This is just referring to personal setting windows 7 will still be there correct?
