Help with Speaker/amp setup

Hi,

I have Bose Freespace 3 speaker setup currently running off a mono amp through the 100v line but I recently acquired an older 5.1 A/V receiver ( Pioneer VSX-517-K). I want to set up the speakers so they are stereo. I can set up the Bose Freespace in order to work stereo as shown in the instructions here

Honestly, I'm really quite new to this. I'm not sure if the amp is the correct specs for the speakers and I really don't want to blow anything up. I believe I can run a + and - from front left/right on the amp to the centre unit of the speakers and it should work?!

Set up the receiver for 2.0 operation.

for Use of Direct Mode (transfomer bypass) with a stereo source.
Connect the front speaker terminals of the receiver to the stereo ch1 and ch2 inputs on the acoustimass module. Connect two satellites to the sat 1 and sat 2 terminals as marked on the module.
