Want to connect a Fire stick to a 15yr. old. Panasonic plasma tv with A/V. ports

I think that is not possible, even if your TV has a DV port which you can use for DV port to HDMI, video in firestick might show but there will be an audio issues.

You would need an active HDMI to Composite video+audio converter to connect a Firestick. If the TV has component video get a converter that connects to that. You won't get the best picture with the composite video input.
As an alternative the Roku Express Plus has AV outputs as do some Android TV boxes.
