Hello,
sometimes my laptop will not start when it does I get a message saying invalid configuration please run setup programme how do I do this?

Is it an older laptop? Then your cmos battery might be empty and needs to be replaced. After replacing the battery, start the laptop, press the <Del>-key, goto load defaults and exit with safe.
