hi i have a minolta e500 when i press the shutter to take a pic the camera shuts off.. any ideas

Hello I have a minolta e500 camera I loaned it out once and when it came back every time i try to take a picture the camera shuts off on me... does any1 have suggestions on how to fix this issue maybe.... please

Change/charge the batteries and if that doesn't work, ask for compensation to send it to a professional
