Hitachi HTS543225A7A384 Locked! Any chance of unlocking?

I have a HDD that i took out from a laptop and i haven`t been able to unlock it since. Before removed, the laptop use to ask for a password every time the laptop was switched on, right at the beginning. It`s not a windows password, that would of been easy. My friend forgot the password and he had to replace the HDD. I got the locked one and just found it. Now i`m wondering if i can get any use out of it or should i just throw it. I tried some unlock software but apparently the Hitachi is not supported.
Any advice?

Tried that. Connected the Hdd to my pc but windows doesn`t see it.

If the drives' master password has not been changed from its factory default, then an ATA Secure Erase should recover the drive.
