[citation][nom]Ramar[/nom]While I completely agree, you have obviously never actually SPOKEN to a homeless person. A majority of them ARE mentally disabled or damaged from drugs.Right argument, at entirely the wrong time.[/citation]
I live in Santa Cruz California. We have one of the largest homeless populations in the country per capita. The vast majority of them choose to be that way. They refuse to get off drugs/Alcohol and they dont want to even attempt to make a living. Sure there are the ones that have mental issues but they are the few in the bulk numbers.
And dont tell me druggies dont have a choice. I spent 15 years of my life addicted to Heroin, and it wasnt until I decided that I was willing to do whatever I needed to do to stop using that stuff that I got clean.
Google the words Santa Cruz and Homeless and youll see the tons of Homeless programs we have here. The massive taxes we pay in this city are to keep this homeless engine running. If you keep givoing people stuff for free thell never have to change what they are doing.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.Teach a man to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime.
