I live in Santa Cruz California. We have one of the largest homeless populations in the country per capita. The vast majority of them choose to be that way. They refuse to get off drugs/Alcohol and they dont want to even attempt to make a living. Sure there are the ones that have mental issues but they are the few in the bulk numbers.

And dont tell me druggies dont have a choice. I spent 15 years of my life addicted to Heroin, and it wasnt until I decided that I was willing to do whatever I needed to do to stop using that stuff that I got clean.

Google the words Santa Cruz and Homeless and youll see the tons of Homeless programs we have here. The massive taxes we pay in this city are to keep this homeless engine running. If you keep givoing people stuff for free thell never have to change what they are doing.

If you really gave a shit you would dig deep and make sure they had a hot meal in them right now and pressure your elected officials to divert funding to house them and get them into work.

Maybe the bums of the world need to organise a rival fighting circuit, a bit like WWF, we already know people will watch it all we have to do now is get it syndicated on TV and sponsorship money can go to feeding and housing.

People living so selfishly within society is exactly the reason why it's so screwed up. If society wasn't invading every corner of the word, maybe then, the argument about failing yourself would stand. Now enjoy all your toys, while it last.

Maybe society makes decisions for your life but I make my own destiny. I am responsible for my own actions and no one else. Must suck to not have enough of your own will to make yourself your own person.

"bum" fight, not "burn" fight

If you make society (aka government) responsible for people, then you take away the freedom those people have over their own lives and destiny.

Case in point Britain, where smokers are being told to either quit or be denied health care. Since these people are taxed up the butt to pay for their "free health care", they have no more money to pay for private health care so they must obey the government or die. That's what happens when you give society (government) the power and responsibility to take care of your life. Society then makes decisions for you and lives your life, you have no control, you're just a walking zombie doing whatever you're told to do because you are assumed not to be able to take care of yourself or make decisions for yourself.

Back to the topic though, a lot of these videos aren't of homeless getting paid to fight. They are of people attacking random homeless for fun. That's a crime and those people should be put in jail just like if they were attacking random people walking by. All the video does is provide evidence of the crime, like if a robber were stupid enough to tape his robbery of a store or the rapists who video tape their rape. If I'm on the jury and I see the video, there is no longer any reasonable doubt of guilt, verdict: guilty.
