Hook my TV to HDMI splitter and TV keeps going out

If your splitter is passive replace it with an active HDMI distribution amp
You could have a bad splitter or incompatible cable.
HDMI devices are supposed to meet certain minimal standards to work together. Some devices are sub standard; some are better than standard. The combination of your source, the splitter, the TV, and the cables all have to meed that minimum standard. If the combination doesn't then you have problems.
Try different cables, a different HDMI input on the TV, and a different splitter.
