Solved! Hook up android to Toshiba DVD RECORDER

I need to hook up my Android phone to my Toshiba DVD recorder to watch/record a TV show by USB cable. The DVD says not compatabe. How do I make this compatible? Settings???

If your phone supports MHL you can get a USB-HDMI converter. Then you would have to convert the HDMI to whatever audio video inputs that the recorder has. The recordings will not be HD.
