Hooking up more speakers

Hello,
I have a 5.1 sony system and have all speakers hooked up. is it ok to add more speakers to the front or rear or will this not change anything

Your system is not designed to handle more speakers than it comes with. A better option is to replace your existing speakers with better ones starting with the front three, then sub (if possible) and then rears.
