Horizontal line on display after freezing

Hello, so my surface pro 4 froze after running a CPU intensive application. I had to do a force shutdown and after powering it back on it seems to have form a horizontal line across the screen. I have contacted microsoft support to get this issue solved by getting a replacement how I am curious to know what could have occurred that may have cause a horizontal line to be shown across the screen.

Could it be the shorting of circuit because I did a force shutdown?

usually this could be from the heat itself.might have fried or damage a cable/connector.if its under warranty then yeah you should get it replace.

Just a short update, the display miraculously fixed itself today. I do not know how but the problem is gone now and my screen is back to normal? What could have caused it?

well as i said it could be the heat itself.i say keep using it normally and see if it comes back or not.
