I've got an old JVC RX-554V AUDIO/VIDEO Receiver and I'm trying to figure out how to hook it up to my TV its an Vera TV model 32AER10N
I haven't had very much luck.
I'm trying to run an HDMI from my PC to my TV and have the receiver play the audio from the speakers hooked up to it as well

Solution
The simplest way I see to do what you want with your existing equipment is this:

Using the earphone output on your TV, obtain a stereo 3.5mm-to-RCA male cable the length you need (see sample below). Your TV speakers will be muted, sending all audio from the TV's inputs to the earphone port. You use that signal to be amplified by your receiver. You can connect it to the audio (L/R) section of the video input on the back of your receiver. Select the "VIDEO" input on your receiver. Adjust the volume of your receiver to a comfortable level and then use your TV remote to adjust the sound level.
