how can i brighten the picture on my 48 inch samsung

I need to brighten the screen on my 48 inch Samsung. when any shots are indoors you can hardly see the picture, can this be done.

To my knowledge not beyond the range of the normal picture controls you would access from the remote.
Brightness would affect the dark areas. Contrast the light areas.
If this is a recent problem perhaps the set has a backlight problem.

Brightness affects both dark and bright areas of the screen.

Contrast adjust the ratio of the brightest areas of the screen versus the darkest areas of the screen.

Do look at backlight settings and make sure it is turned on in either the average or maximum state.

But to fix this issue you need to increase the brightness due to the outside brightness washing out all of the colors.

After that you need to decrease the contrast until the picture looks acceptable.

Without proper color calibration tools your going to have to do this through trial and error.

If possible close the blinds in your house so that as little outside light is able to get in.
