A friend of mine borrowed my HP ProBook 4430s that was running Windows 7 Home Premium. He thought he messed up my laptop and, instead of doing a system restore, he somehow made the HP partition active and it removed everything. The Windows 7 is no longer on my laptop. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium ISO file but with the state my laptop is in I can't try it. Can I connect my laptop to my desktop to troubleshoot and try to repair it? I can't afford a repair disk or to have it serviced at a computer repair shop. Can one or all of the experts on here PLEASE HELP ME??!! My dad got me this laptop a few months before he passed away. So it is very emotionally important to me.

Thank you and have a great day!

Connecting your laptop to your desktop will not help. You can connect your laptop drive and recover your data. Burn window 7 iso to disk and boot from that on your laptop and install Win 7. You can't get to factory restore by hitting F11?
