How can I make my phone keyboard letters bigger when it shrinks

I don't believe you can make them bigger using the standard keyboard. You can change the text size of the phone and you can usually change the display size to zoom in, but not the keyboard itself. And then that is going to be different on different apps. As many use their own keyboard.

You can try downloading an alternative keyboard, one with bigger keys/letters, from google play store. However, again, that won't work in all apps.
