how can I play Xbox One on Asus Laptop

How do I connect my Xbox One to my Asus windows 8.1laptop by the HDMI cable.I've been trying but I can't work it out

No you cannot do that that is a video out not video in. At least, I do not know of any software that would make it work, there might be some to display video in from HDMI.

You can't. Laptop video ports are outies, not innies.

The only laptops that I am aware of which have HDMI inputs are Alienware laptops.
