Dell insprion 1520 keyboad won't type shift/@ it now seems confused with the no. 2 key "

keyboard have a controller and trace lines inside of them. if one of them goes bad crazy things will pop up. also with laptops there is a small ribbon cable that goes from the keyboard to the mb. sometimes that clip can pop lose and the cable can fall out.
but it take a lot of force to do it. the plus side it a cheap and easy fix. most laptop keyboard are 17.00 for gen replacements if you look online or on ebay. to replace it you just pull the battery and ac power..flip the laptop over and remove some screws holding the keyboard in. the keyboard will then fall out. you unclip the keyboard and connect the new one and close the clip and fip the laptop over and put the screws back in and your done.

This is NOT a hardware problem..its a settings problem...

Its set to US in keyboard languages... change it back to UK and all fixed...
