how do change from chinese to english on thinkpad?

My wife's computer is windows 8 and i want to change from chinese to english..it is a Lenovo thinkpad

If it's a Chinese version of Windows, you need to do a full clean setup of the US or whatever version of the English language OS you want. If it was just changed to that with the Language options, go to the Language options and change it back to English. You can change some things to English though language options, but if the OS was not originally in English, you can't fully change it.
