How do i change the input on my Inspiron 17 5767?

I have a dell Inspiron 17 5767, and im trying to connect it to my PS3 via a HDMI cable, (dont tell me i cant do it, because i know i can) i just dont know how, i think its because the PS3 is 1080I and not 1080P like my laptop, any ideas as to how i change it?

how do you know you can as video ports are only outputs not inputs like a usb port?
