How do i connect a samsung soundbar to a samsung Plasma tv. Right now the tv is connected to direct tv via a coax and I have a

can u connect a soundbar to a tv via a HDMI when the tv is connected to direct tv via a coax cable from the cable box!! please help!!!

It depends on your TV - it might have HDMI out for this purpose (check your TV manual).
There is also another possibility - most probably, your DirectTV box has audio-out port (either RCA or coax or optical) which you could connect to your soundbar.
